Design Engineer Position

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with thermal management and electrical design.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects and utilize your skills in CAD software, such as AutoDesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD 2D, and SolidWorks. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with internal staff and customers to deliver high-quality products and systems that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design thermal solutions for heating and temperature sensing applications for gas and/or liquid delivery systems.
  • Possess product/project development experience and provide presentations to sales/operations staff when required.
  • Analyze data from customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application.
  • Work with internal account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to customers' specifications.
  • Coordinate with UCT Thermal manufacturing to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Participate in design review meetings and follow the NPI process via MS Teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating, or related industry.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.
  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The work environment may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. The ability to attend MS Teams meetings and use a computer for extended periods of time is also required. Overnight travel may be necessary for training and meetings.
