Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the test team and overseeing the development and execution of test scripts for software and systems to detect bugs or unexpected results.
  • They will also be responsible for translating requirements/user stories to test scenarios/test cases and test scripts, and executing test scenarios/test cases and test scripts and validating actual results against expected results.
  • Analyse defects and bugs to identify what is causing them, develop or recommend solutions to fix any problems discovered during testing, and provide support in the investigation of defects.
  • Track the success of the solutions and provide post deployment/implementation metrics such as test execution productivity, defect rate, defect turnaround time for resolution, defect ageing, environment issues/availability, etc.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the test team;
  • Oversight of the development and execution of test scripts for software and systems to detect bugs or unexpected results;
  • Translating requirements/user stories to test scenarios/test cases and test scripts;
  • Executing test scenarios/test cases and test scripts and validating actual results against expected results;
  • Analysing defects and bugs to identify what is causing them;
  • Developing or recommending solutions to fix any problems discovered during testing;
  • Providing support in the investigation of defects;
  • Tracking the success of the solutions and providing post deployment/implementation metrics;

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills;
  • Good communication skills;
  • The ability to learn at a fast pace;
  • Good documentation and report writing skills;
