Job Summary:

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing electrical designs and specifications, scope of works, drafting, cost estimates, bid documentation, and maintenance works for retail sites and facilities. They will supervise construction projects, conducting studies on electrical designs, materials applications, and construction techniques to improve safety and efficiency while optimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather data through site inspections, mall coordination meetings, leasing kits, research, and design requirements. Prepare electrical, network, and data designs, specifications, scope of works, cost estimates, equipment schedules, and timetables covering electrical power and lighting, auxiliary systems, fire alarm systems, and stand-by generating sets.
  • Draft electrical plans based on designs, specifications, and scope of works following established standards and mall construction guidelines.
  • Take off quantities and prepare bill of materials, estimate labor costs, and prepare overall project cost estimates following estimating guidelines and standards.
  • Attend pre-bid conferences and explain electrical design details to contractors; attend bidding sessions to analyze and verify bids on electrical works as a member of the bidding committee, and attend pre-award conferences to clarify requirements with contractors.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project in-charges to discuss the status of ongoing projects.
  • Review electrical plans and requirements of lease applicants for food and non-food spaces within retail branches.
  • Update electrical materials and supplies price lists.
