Medical Support Specialist

The Medical Virtual Assistant plays a crucial role in patient intake and healthcare coordination. This position ensures a seamless process while managing patient information, scheduling, and communication.


Responsibilities:
  • Patient Intake: Collect demographic and insurance data ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate schedules with healthcare providers facilitating timely consultations.
  • Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records adhering to EHR systems.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify coverage and eligibility for medical procedures ensuring optimal care.
  • Patient Communication: Respond to inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.
  • Pre-Consultation Preparation: Gather necessary medical history and documentation prior to consultations.
  • Provider Coordination: Facilitate effective communication between patients, providers, and insurance representatives ensuring seamless care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient information.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Administrative experience in the medical field or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes ensuring informed decision making.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities ensuring efficient task completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills fostering collaboration and understanding.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially and professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and healthcare scheduling software.
  • Background in medical billing and insurance verification advantageous.
  • Previous remote support experience beneficial but not required.
