The Billing Business Analyst will work within the Billing Operations team to handle client month end billing tasks and serve as a key liaison between Product Management, Engineering, and the Billing Operations team.

This individual is expected to function in a fast-paced environment, communicate well, and meet deadlines associated with the month-end process.

">Key Responsibilities

The Billing Business Analyst will be responsible for:

">
  • Preparing, validating, and analyzing data to ensure timely and accurate results during month-end settlement processing.
  • Actively participating in firmwide and departmental projects and initiatives, including implementation of the new billing system.
  • Eliciting, capturing, and documenting business and functional requirements to enable manual billing tasks to be converted to automated tasks by collaborating with the Project Management and Engineering teams.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements, suggesting changes to streamline operations, improve workflows and controls, minimize risk, reduce manual interventions, and reduce inefficiencies where needed.
  • Completing billing set-up of new clients based on specified terms detailed in signed contracts, and ensuring proper billing rate setup.
  • Preparing journal entries and monthly reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and proactively communicating daily status and escalating issues as needed.
  • Assisting with quarterly and annual audit requests as needed.
  • Liaising with other operational teams as well as Client Service teams to resolve any outstanding billing issues and ensure accuracy and timely payments.
  • Actively cross-training to provide back-up coverage for all team members.
">Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field, preferably for a clearing or brokerage firm.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, NetSuite accounting system, SQL, and experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker) preferred.
  • Prior experience in the financial field with a deep understanding of related regulatory and compliance requirements is a plus.
