Accounting Manager Role Overview">

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate postings. They analyze general ledger accounts, providing insights on significant variances.

The ideal candidate will lead internal financial reporting, assisting management with variance analysis and commentary on financial trends and results. They will contribute to ongoing improvements in internal financial reporting packages.

The Accounting Manager will reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensure data integrity, and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end close process, creating journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and provide insights on significant variances
  • Assist in preparing internal financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal financial reporting packages
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued expenses)
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all required tax forms
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification or active progress toward CPA
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments preferred but not required
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial controls
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments
