To support the underwriting function and drive business growth for Pioneer Insurance, we seek a highly skilled Underwriting Manager. This key role will be responsible for providing technical support to Affinity Sales, including underwriting, pricing, and preparation of master policy contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Provide inputs on relevant business, market, technology, industry development/trends, and government regulations to inform division goals.
  • Underwriting: Assess risks exposures/insurability of prospect group accounts and recommend appropriate underwriting strategies, loading, rating for accurate pricing.
  • New Business Installation: Ensure client-submitted documents comply with KYS requirements of AMLA and review final proposals to reflect agreed schedule of benefits, price, terms, and conditions.
  • Customer Service: Address inquiries and concerns of call-in clients.
  • Staff Development: Participate in Performance Planning and Appraisal (PPA) process and keep abreast of external and internal opportunities for skills development and training.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's degree in Business or Math, preferably with an MBA or advanced qualifications/certifications related to Underwriting/Insurance. The ideal candidate should have ten years' experience in group insurance operation, particularly in pricing, and be proficient in MS Office.
