About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned WordPress professional to lead and mentor our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project progress, addressing challenges promptly, and collaborating with the team to write front-end and back-end code.


The ideal candidate will have experience in developing custom themes and plugins, integrating third-party services, and ensuring scalability, performance, and security of web applications.



Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, promoting collaboration and effective execution of projects.
  • Serve as the primary communication point between the development team, management, and clients, ensuring clear understanding of project goals and consistent updates on progress.
  • Solve problems and resolve conflicts when needed.
  • Develop web applications using custom WordPress themes and plugins, applying best practices in web development.
  • Transform app designs into front-end code with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code.
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical requirements or UX design.
  • Manage website architecture (WordPress Dashboard) and design the back-end, including database and server integration.
  • Maintain the platform's WordPress core while building customizable solutions that meet business needs.
  • Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices in WordPress development.
  • Work with the team to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
  • Monitor website performance, conduct tests, and implement optimizations.
  • Collaborate with the development team to develop and maintain websites.


Requirements
  • Proven 5+ years hands-on experience as a WordPress developer using custom built themes, including multisite configuration, custom themes, plugins, ACF, and Gutenberg editor.
  • At least 3 years work experience leading a development team.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
  • Proven expertise in Agile methodology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related field.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies, including SASS, CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery.
  • Proficiency in backend developments, including WordPress, PHP, MySQL, API integrations, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience in GIT workflows and code versioning tools such as Git, Github or Gitlab.
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

This role requires someone who is well-versed in JavaScript frameworks, Webflow, Sketch, and Invision, with experience in developing using other tools and platforms.
