Security Focused Software Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional software engineer to join our product teams in a security-focused role.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in feature development, vulnerability response, proactive security, and open source community participation.

As a member of the team, you will work closely with other engineers to design and develop new security features, lead security initiatives, and contribute to upstream open source projects.

The role encompasses all aspects of product security, including feature development, vulnerability response, proactive security, and open source community participation.

Responsibilities:
  • Feature Development: Design, implement, and document new security features to protect our products and services.
  • Security Initiatives: Lead security-focused initiatives within a product engineering team to ensure the highest level of security for our customers.
  • Vulnerability Response: Analyze, fix, and test vulnerabilities in open source software to prevent potential security breaches.
  • Open Source Contribution: Contribute to Ubuntu and upstream open source projects to benefit the community and enhance our products.
  • Source Code Audit: Audit and analyze source code for vulnerabilities to ensure the integrity of our software.
  • Tool Integration: Integrate new tools into our security infrastructure, pipelines, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Security Certifications: Achieve and retain various security certifications to demonstrate expertise and commitment to security.
  • Cryptographic Components: Extend and enhance Linux cryptographic components to meet country-specific compliance requirements.
  • Hardening Automation: Design and develop hardening automation for Ubuntu to improve security and reduce risk.
  • Staying Current: Stay up to date with trends and developments in the security industry to continuously improve our security posture.
