Accounting Professional - Construction

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team in a construction setting.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain accurate financial records using advanced accounting software.
  2. Perform job costing and track expenses by project to ensure budgetary compliance.
  3. Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and vendor payments in a timely manner.
  4. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements to identify discrepancies.
  5. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and balance sheets.
  6. Assist with estimating by reviewing plans, material take-offs, and subcontractor bids to ensure accurate estimates.
  7. Support project managers with budget tracking and cost-to-complete analysis to optimize project outcomes.
  8. Manage payroll and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in construction.
  • Proven knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with estimating processes, bids, or take-offs is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in advanced accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Buildertrend).
  • Strong Excel skills and data entry accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
