Job Description

The Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees. This full-time position involves overseeing and implementing comprehensive safety measures across our manufacturing and logistics operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to mitigate workplace hazards
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a strong safety culture
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to identify and address safety concerns
  • E nsure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations
  • Maintain detailed records and report on safety performance metrics
  • Promote and facilitate employee participation in safety initiatives

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an OH&S Officer or in a similar role within the manufacturing or logistics industry
  • Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
