Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to fill the role of Medical File Reviewer. This position involves reviewing medical records, creating case files, and assisting medical providers during scheduled appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned through our portal.
  • Reviewing and bookmarking medical records to create a comprehensive synopsis for medical opinion questions based on a veteran's medical history.
  • Remotely assisting medical providers during appointments by accessing, navigating, and preparing apps in their computer, interviewing veterans via video or telephone conference, transcribing medical history, and documenting physical examination findings.
  • Completing all sections of DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment and transferring data from these spreadsheets to our portal.
  • Submission of DBQs in our portal and answering queries/addendum reports from quality assurance teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), active Professional Health Record Nurse (PHRN) license.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and flexibility in work schedule changes as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist in process improvement and creation of process-related templates when necessary.
Technical Requirements
  • Fiber internet connection with at least 20 Mbps download and upload speeds.
  • Backup internet with minimum 15 Mbps download and upload speeds.
  • Main desktop/laptop: Intel i5–i7, 8 GB RAM; 4th generation or newer.
  • Backup desktop/laptop: Intel i3–i5, 8 GB RAM; 4th generation or newer.
