Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept and Product Development:
    • Design and develop new recipes and improve existing products to meet market demands and customer expectations.
    • Foster collaboration with suppliers to create innovative recipes, enhance packaging, and introduce new product formats.
    • Conduct thorough kitchen trials to ensure recipes meet quality, consistency, and production standards.
  • Market Research and Trend Analysis:
    • Analyze food trends, packaging innovations, equipment advancements, and competitor strategies in the food manufacturing and retail industries.
    • Identify opportunities for new product development and commissary improvements using market insights.
  • Testing, Implementation, and Scalability:
    • Oversee product testing in the kitchen and scale recipes for mass production while maintaining consistent quality.
    • Presentation of new concepts to top management for evaluation and approval.
    • Ensure seamless transfer of approved concepts and technologies to manufacturing and commissary operations teams.
  • Cost Optimization and Process Improvement:
    • Assess production processes and provide recommendations to optimize cost, efficiency, and resource utilization.
    • Develop scalable production techniques that balance profitability and quality.
  • Documentation and Standards Compliance:
    • Document technical specifications, process flows, and food safety standards for all newly developed products and concepts.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality assurance, and operational standards.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Work collaboratively with suppliers, production teams, and commissary staff to ensure successful implementation of new products and technologies.
    • Provide training and technical support to operations teams to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product/recipe development, ingredients substitution, recipe reformulation, cost reduction, and food costing.
  • Demonstrated technical skills in menu development, sensory evaluation, food safety, HACCP, and CGMP.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to represent the company at senior levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously and generate engagement across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to absorb new information rapidly.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
