Laboratory Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Microbiologist to join our team at FAST Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for performing microbiological analyses, preparing reports, and ensuring the quality of our laboratory tests.

• Conduct microbiological analyses of accepted samples according to specified methods and procedures.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Microbiology Specialist/Laboratory Business Manager for review, approval, and signature.
• Ensure that required analyses are completed on time for release of results to customers.
• Prepare required media and reagents and maintain assigned equipment for proper conduct of laboratory tests.
• Implement the established laboratory quality system based on PNS ISO/IEC 17025.
• Observe protocol on corrective and preventive measures for non-conforming work.
• Monitor supply inventories needed for microbiological tests.
• Prepare and follow-up P.R./P.O. for materials/supplies to be purchased and inspect media and supplies delivered.
• Assist management in the conceptualization and implementation of programs and projects that benefit the entire business of the cooperative.
• Participate in Proficiency Testing and other Quality Assurance programs of the laboratory, including method validation as required.
• Implement guidelines on good housekeeping in the laboratory and its environment, safety guidelines, and proper and efficient disposal of laboratory wastes.
• Provide assistance in the conduct of special projects.
• Represent FAST Laboratories in professional circles, technical fora, etc., as required.
• Report directly to the Microbiology Specialist and administratively report to the Laboratory Business Manager.
• Act as deputy to the Microbiology Specialist.
• Perform other tasks as necessary to support the laboratory's objectives.
