We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bird Husbandry Director to join our team at Meatplus Trading Corp. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to oversee the care and management of our pullet flock.

Key Responsibilities:

The Bird Husbandry Director will be responsible for ensuring that our pullets are raised in optimal conditions, promoting their health, growth, and productivity. This role involves managing a team of workers, monitoring the pullets' environment, and ensuring proper feeding, vaccination, and other care routines, while maintaining biosecurity and compliance with industry standards.

Main Duties:

  • Manage the daily care and management of pullets, ensuring that all necessary tasks are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor the health and growth of pullets, identifying signs of disease, injury, or other health concerns.
  • Administer vaccinations, deworming treatments, and other health measures as required.
  • Ensure proper feeding practices, managing the feeding schedules, and monitoring feed consumption to maintain optimal growth rates.
  • Oversee the management of housing conditions, ensuring that pullets are kept in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment (e.g., temperature, humidity, and ventilation).
  • Maintain biosecurity protocols to prevent disease transmission and ensure safe handling of pullets.
  • Implement record-keeping for health, growth, and environmental conditions of the pullets.
  • Train and supervise team members on proper animal handling, feeding, and biosecurity measures.
  • Ensure compliance with farm regulations, animal welfare standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular health checks and assess the overall condition of pullets, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work closely with the farm manager to coordinate schedules, track productivity, and develop improvement plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with veterinarians for disease prevention and treatment plans.
  • Oversee the weaning process, moving pullets into the production cycle when appropriate.
