Job Overview:
The Laboratory Operations Director will lead the technical operations of the Chemical Laboratories, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC Guide 17025 requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and pursue capacity and technical capability development, quality, efficiency, and sustainability of the Chemical Laboratories.
- Control and organize the day-to-day technical operations of the AFL and EHS chemical testing laboratories.
- Select, hire, and develop people, as well as implement disciplinary actions based on performance and competence.
- Evaluate Lab personnel to ensure proficiency testing and quality work results.
- Effectively manage laboratory resources, including equipment efficiency and analyst effectiveness.
- Develop and recommend new testing services.
- Review test procedures, manage method development, and recommend costing for sales and marketing inputs.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to discuss new testing capabilities and technical concerns.
- Oversee all technical chemical laboratory activities and operations in accordance with company policies and international standards.
- Work with Operations Staff to achieve operational requirements and performance targets through proper manpower planning and reporting.
- Prepare reports on laboratory compliance, technical capability development progress, and operational metrics.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of technical experience or 5+ years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
- Education: BS Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields. Registered Chemist.
- Core skills: Integrity, Work Standards, Customer Service Orientation, Communication.
