Senior Ruby Software Engineer Position

This is a key role for a Senior Ruby Software Engineer in our SEA and Remote teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Ruby code for new carrier integrations by working closely with the engineering team.
  • Manage and orchestrate multiple microservices to ensure seamless integration and efficient data flow.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to understand, plan, and execute maintenance of existing integrations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and actively participate in efforts on systems architecture initiatives to drive business growth and scalability.
  • Enhance test coverage and quality of deliverables by implementing robust testing strategies and best practices.
  • Develop and improve internal tools and libraries to streamline workflows and boost productivity.
  • Mentor and guide other team members to foster professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the team to scale the engineering department and drive business objectives forward.
About You
  • You have extensive experience (5-7+ years) as a software engineer and can contribute from day one with your expertise.
  • You possess hands-on experience working with Ruby projects recently and can apply this knowledge to drive results.
  • A strong background in planning and improving observability and monitoring processes will be valuable in this role.
  • Grafana/Prometheus experience is an added advantage.
  • Experience in conducting technical recruitment interviews will help you excel in this position.
  • Test-driven development is crucial for delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Extensive experience integrating external APIs will enable you to effectively manage complex systems.
  • A deep understanding of distributed systems principles will serve as a foundation for driving innovation.
  • Hands-on experience working with microservices and/or service-oriented architecture will help you design scalable solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines will allow you to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.
  • A deep understanding of Kubernetes from a software engineering perspective will be essential for managing cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Experience working with public cloud providers (GCP is preferred) will provide valuable insights into cloud-based systems.
  • Relational and non-relational database principles are fundamental to designing robust data systems.
  • Designing robust REST APIs requires a combination of technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Leading technical initiatives will enable you to drive business objectives forward and foster innovation.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is necessary for effective communication within the team and with clients.
