Senior Development Leader

The Senior Development Leader is a key role in our organization, responsible for guiding a team of skilled developers to maintain and expand both internal and customer-facing systems.

This position reports directly to the Project Manager and supports the CEO. It's a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively between internal stakeholders and the development team.

The Senior Development Leader is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, to a high standard, and in line with business requirements.

  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance to developers at the code level.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of multiple complex development projects from design through to release.
  • Contribute to technical solutions from initial design through to implementation.
  • Establish and manage automated unit testing for existing systems.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and documentation processes for systems and code.
  • Plan and implement system upgrades and replacements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and internal stakeholders to produce accurate project specifications and delivery estimates.
  • Manage project phases, including activities, sub-activities, milestones, and documentation.

This role requires a strong understanding of PHP and GitHub, as well as experience working with remote-based teams.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a senior development role, ideally within telecommunications.
  • 2+ years' experience in team leadership, including working with remote-based teams.
  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in Melbourne (Australia) hours to align with company head office.
