Job Title: Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson

A leading building materials company seeks a skilled Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent design skills and be proficient in creating high-quality products quickly in a collaborative environment.

As a key member of the team, you will produce accurate shop drawings within designated time frames and ensure they comply with relevant specifications. You will work closely with the Sales Team to meet deadlines and provide support in product information, design, optimisation, and costing.

The role also involves working with the Engineering Design Manager and Design Engineers to promote innovation and bring new product ideas to the company. You will build relationships with external organisations such as Suppliers, Peak body groups and Certifiers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of Mechanical Drafting/Design Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Solidworks experience preferred and would be highly regarded
  • Experience or interest in processes and process equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and well organised
  • Familiarity with Australian industrial standards is a plus
  • Highly competent user of Microsoft Office suite of products (emphasis on experience at intermediate level in Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
