Job Title: Foreign Exchange Risk Management Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Foreign Exchange Risk Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of foreign exchange markets, financial instruments, and hedging techniques.

This is a critical role in managing our exposure to foreign currency fluctuations across 20+ currencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring currency obligations, developing risk mitigation strategies, ensuring cost-effective and compliant currency operations, and measuring the impact of FX movements on our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Currency Exposure Management: Track and manage the company's foreign currency exposure across all markets and suppliers.
  • Forecasting: Maintain accurate forecasts of incoming and outgoing foreign currency flows to support cash flow planning and risk management.
  • Hedging Strategies: Work with the CFO and VP Finance on appropriate hedging strategies (e.g., forward contracts, natural hedging) to minimize FX risk in line with the company's risk tolerance.
  • Transaction Reconciliation: Reconcile FX transactions and provide regular reporting on FX exposures, gains/losses, and hedging performance.
  • Financial Institution Relationships: Maintain relationships with financial institutions to ensure competitive rates and service levels.
  • Compliance: Ensure all FX activities comply with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to FX risk management processes, systems, and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange markets, financial instruments, and hedging techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with multi-currency environments—ideally in the travel or tourism industry.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial modeling; experience with treasury management systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Professional certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and payments platforms.
  • Familiarity with accounting treatment of FX gains/losses and hedging.
