Content Writer and Editor

The Role is to Develop Written Content for College Applications.

We seek a creative, motivated, and organized Content Writer and Editor who is deadline-oriented and intimately familiar with essay writing, prompt-based narrative writing, and other similar creative nonfiction writing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing and enhancing written content, providing detailed feedback, and emphasizing clarity, style, and structure.

This position requires a high level of skill and flexibility. The Content Writer and Editor will research a vast array of topics depending on the interests and activities of each student. Commitment is expected during the college season when we see an increase in assignments with fixed deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Writing and Editing: Brainstorm with the College Admissions Team about the direction of essays, give feedback to students, and edit rough drafts to fix grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count.
  2. Research: Research different topics to strengthen work.
  3. Collaboration: Help team members with drafting, brainstorming, augmenting, and reviewing especially regarding assignments with urgent deadlines.
  4. Administration and Logistics: Communicate logistical needs, organize send-outs, draft email updates, schedule review meetings, notetaking, and prepare meeting notes.
  5. Business Development: Work on projects that contribute to the growth of the team and company overall.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional English verbal and written skills with strong grip on grammar.
  • Graduated from a 4-year degree program in related fields or graduates from other fields encouraged to apply but written samples heavily scrutinized.
  • Experience working in education consulting companies is preferred but not required.
  • Portfolio with minimum three written samples (one creative piece and one research sample encouraged).
  • Experience working during PST hours preferred but not required.
  • Edit and write skillfully without AI tools.
  • Participate in Internship Day before training where successful candidates spend a day shadowing team members.
