Cloud Infrastructure Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud servers, services, and software.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing support, escalations, and proactive maintenance of client Azure platforms through our managed services team's processes, procedures, and tools.

  • Support client Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including response to escalations from the monitoring team to analyze and resolve incidents.
  • Communicate ticket status information and escalate cases as necessary.
  • Interact with clients to identify IT issues, troubleshoot, and follow up on issues via email, ticketing system, and phone calls.
  • Install, configure, and administer client systems in Azure to improve infrastructure.
  • Configuration and tuning of cloud-based tools, managing cost, security, and compliance for client environments.
  • Execute monthly maintenance of Azure infrastructure, including patching, anti-virus updates, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Create and maintain updated documentation for each client environment.
  • Promote best practices to enhance organizational processes.
  • Participate in weekly discussions with clients to review outstanding issues and changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud servers, services, and software or equivalent sys admin experience with on-prem server and virtualization environments.
  • Experience in a 24x7 managed services, hosted service company, or Network Operations Center environment.
  • ITIL processes and associated ITSM systems and service portals for Incident and Change Management.
  • Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS experience.
  • Windows and Linux system administration experience.
  • CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Terraform templates development experience.
  • Azure native services experience.
  • Certifications and training in relevant areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for problem-solving and learning new technologies.
  • Client relationship skills and experience managing vendors.
