Job Description

At Marivent Hotels and Resorts Inc., we are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee the financial operations of our hospitality establishments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, finance, and leadership, with a proven track record of success in managing accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial records, ledgers, and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Analyze and reconcile accounts payable, ensuring timely payment and resolving any issues that may arise.
  3. Cash Position Report: Manage expense accounts and prepare cash position reports to ensure optimal financial performance.
  4. Talent Development: Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively within the accounting team, promoting growth and development.
  5. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate external audits, implement recommendations for procedural improvements, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
  6. System Optimization: Monitor and enhance accounting systems and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Financial Reporting: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions, ensuring timely reconciliation of bank statements and other financial accounts.
  8. Billing Processes: Manage guest folio reconciliations and billing processes, providing financial analysis and reports for management.
  9. Cost Control: Implement strategies to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality, analyzing cost control measures, including food and beverage costs, labor costs, and operational expenses.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification may be preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting specific to hospitality, excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, strong leadership and team management abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
