Job Title: Real Estate Accountant with Financial Management Expertise

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced financial professional to manage the financial records of our real estate properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency with financial management software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate and compliant financial records for real estate properties
  • Utilize Appfolio software for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports
  • Conduct regular financial closing processes and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper recording of transactions
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of real estate assets
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
  • Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management
  • Proficiency in Appfolio software and other accounting tools
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Skills:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
  • Experience with tax preparation and compliance
  • Knowledge of real estate laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
