Comedy Sketch Writer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly creative and culturally fluent writer to contribute to a growing digital sketch comedy platform with millions of followers across social media.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a creator recognized for sharp writing, memorable characters, and viral storytelling – with the mission of producing consistently engaging, shareable content.

Develop 5–6 one-minute sketch scripts weekly for recurring and new characters

Pitch trending concepts and formats for YouTube Shorts, long-form sketches, and other social platforms

Create character-driven, culturally relevant, female-forward comedy

Utilize analytics to refine scripts and maximize audience engagement

  • Strong comedic writing and storytelling structure (acts, beats, moments)
  • Deep understanding of online culture, trends, meme cycles, and creator collaborations
  • Ability to adapt tone across comedic styles: absurd, heartfelt, ironic, chaotic
  • Proficiency in developing recurring characters and sustainable sketch formulas
  • Capacity to work quickly, iterate ideas, and meet tight deadlines

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels formats and algorithms
  • Understanding of analytics tools (YouTube Analytics, TikTok Analytics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SEO and keyword optimization for video content
  • Experience with script formatting tools (Google Docs, Final Draft, or similar)
  • Awareness of basic video editing workflows and terminology (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or equivalent)
  • Ability to research trends using social listening tools and platform searches
  • Background in sketch comedy, screenwriting, or improv
  • Knowledge of Asian diasporic comedy and culture
  • Experience taking content from concept to viral success
  • Ability to write in an established creator's voice and tone
