The Australian Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing the payroll process for all employees, ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws and employment regulations.

This role requires a meticulous individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Payroll Processing: Manage weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll for Australian employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, superannuation requirements, and Fair Work regulations, preparing and submitting relevant reports.
  3. Employee Records and Support: Maintain accurate employee records, address payroll discrepancies, and provide support to employees as needed.
  4. System Management and Continuous Improvement: Utilise payroll software to manage payroll processes efficiently, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you should possess a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  1. Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll role, preferably within Australia.
  3. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, ELMO, Rippling, CloudPayroll).
  4. Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Experience in managing multiple clients is desired.
