Job Title: Cybersecurity Professional

The role of a cybersecurity professional encompasses various responsibilities that contribute to the overall security and integrity of an organization's network. Key among these responsibilities is ensuring the proper functioning of firewall platforms, implementing software updates, and maintaining patch management.

To safeguard the customer's network, this individual must configure, manage, and maintain firewall devices and related security infrastructure. They will develop and enforce security policies, access controls, and firewall rules to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Firewall Administration: The administrator will oversee the upkeep and maintenance of firewall systems, guaranteeing they function within designated parameters, stay current with the latest software releases, and are consistently updated to prevent exploitation of known vulnerabilities.
  • Network Security Infrastructure Configuration and Maintenance: This includes configuring and managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), network access control (NAC) solutions, encryption technologies, and other critical security tools and applications to safeguard the company's network and sensitive information.
  • Develop and Enforce Comprehensive Security Policies: The effective implementation and continuous refinement of comprehensive security policies, including threat detection mechanisms, incident response plans, and compliance protocols, to mitigate potential risks to business operations and reputation.
  • Strong TCP/IP Networking Skills for Troubleshooting and Network Performance Optimization: A high level of expertise in TCP/IP networking skills to diagnose complex network issues and optimize network performance through the strategic placement and configuration of firewalls, switches, routers, and other network devices.
  • Proactive Technical Assistance and Customer Support: Respond promptly and effectively to technical inquiries and requests from customers, providing expert guidance on managed services and addressing any concerns they may have regarding their access to network resources through their assigned managed device.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Hold a strong understanding of written and verbal communication principles
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while meeting tight deadlines
  • Sound analytical skills to identify, analyze, and rectify complex problems quickly
  • Required Skills and Experience:
  • Significant experience working with firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPNs, network operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), and major security frameworks.
  • Possess a deep knowledge of security protocols and technologies, including threat detection methods, incident response strategies, and encryption standards.
  • Familiarity with key security certifications such as Palo Alto PAN-OS, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or other relevant certifications would be beneficial.
