About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT systems, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage IT Systems: Set up and configure servers, storage, networking equipment, and virtual systems to meet business needs.
  • Monitor Systems: Keep a close eye on systems and networks for any issues, threats, or unusual activity, taking action to fix problems early and prevent downtime.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance to clients and colleagues, working together to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Update Systems: Regularly apply patches and security updates to keep systems safe and secure.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup plans to protect data, ensuring systems can recover quickly in case of failure.
  • Plan for Growth: Monitor system usage and recommend upgrades to meet future business needs, suggesting new hardware or software when necessary.
  • Keep Records: Maintain accurate documentation for system setups, fixes, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in troubleshooting and managing Microsoft workstations connected to a domain.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, virtualization technologies (like VMware or Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (like AWS or Azure).
  • Strong understanding of networking and security practices.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or SCCM.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to fix technical issues.
  • Ability to learn quickly and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills for working with clients and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and keep up with new technologies.
