Job Overview

This position focuses on developing and deploying Web-GIS applications that integrate with the client's Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) / Enterprise GIS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with departments and staff to identify needs for customized Web-GIS applications.
  • Familiarize with the client's Spatial Data Infrastructure, both in ITD and map-enabled business apps like CDIH, CCDRMS, MATALAS, etc.
  • Identify technical and security requirements for developing Web-GIS applications or plugins.
  • Support consultant teams hired by individual projects to develop standards-conform applications that integrate seamlessly with the SDI / Enterprise GIS.
  • Ensure proper hand-over / migration of Web-GIS Apps developed by consultant teams, departments and projects not under ITD, and co-maintain the Apps on a regular basis once launched, in close coordination with the client's App owners.
  • Program new Web-GIS applications as per client and DMC user demand, including user review, development of wireframes, work and budget planning for development and maintenance phases, perform UI/UX and security testing, etc.
  • Deploy applications and perform regular maintenance (bug fixing, backup, software/code updates/upgrades).
Qualifications
  • University degree in computer science / IT or related field
  • At least 10 years' experience in developing and successfully deploying map-enabled / WebGIS client applications
  • Technical skills: HTML & CSS, JavaScript/AngularJS, Leaflet, Python, R, C#, SQL/NonSQL Databases, REST API, Web Architecture, NPM, Information Security & Privacy; working knowledge of the client's IT environment / technology, and related security regulations and guidelines
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
