Job Title: Cloud Automation Engineer

The role of a Cloud Automation Engineer involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement automated solutions for cloud-native systems. These engineers work closely with the engineering, architecture, and development teams to create scalable and fault-tolerant systems that meet ambitious service level agreements (SLAs).

This includes deploying and monitoring systems using established tools. The engineer must stay up-to-date with industry trends and be intellectually curious about new technologies. They will also execute operations and engineering projects and provide support for DevSecOps tools, cloud automation, critical business applications, and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Supports the development and maintenance of automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code configuration.">
  • Executes established automation processes for updates and deployments.">
  • Participates in incident response, root cause analysis, and drives production improvements for key issues.">
  • Provides guidance on enabling end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services.">
  • Works on building automation to eliminate waste and manual tasks, prevent problem recurrence, and respond to service alerts.">
  • Supports Kubernetes clusters in Azure and AWS, including cluster management, upgrades, security policies, and application deployment.">
  • Executes infrastructure-as-code automation with Terraform.">
  • Performs tasks aligned to projects in the operations space.">
  • Promotes a continuous improvement culture across teams.">
  • Builds relationships with corporate infrastructure leads and teams.">
  • Includes security in all planning and work.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">
  • A working knowledge of infrastructure operations and engineering concepts in AWS and Azure, as well as IT tools.">
  • Strategic problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making ability with a sense of urgency.">
  • A desire to measure and continuously improve with a metrics-and-reporting mindset.">
  • Experience building, maintaining, monitoring, logging, and optimizing cloud-native business solutions.">
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes environments, GitHub Actions libraries, and scripting.">
  • Experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.">
  • DevOps tools and patterns; Data DevOps, DevSecOps.">
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.">
  • Exceptional customer experience focus.">
  • Experience with continuous deployment and canary testing.">
  • Hybrid on- and offshore work experience.">

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.">
  • Typical requirement: 3 years of equivalent work experience in infrastructure and software engineering.">
