Job Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, overseeing accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 4x a week onsite at our office. You'll work closely with our senior management and other departments to resolve any financial discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Ensure all financial transactions are recorded and managed accurately, including accounts payable and receivable, compliance, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare Comprehensive Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure Compliance: Support compliance matters in relation to the Insurance Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage Company Accounts: Oversee the company's general ledger and ensure all financial data is accurately posted.
  • Document Payroll: Ensure complete documentation of employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile Bank Statements: Reconcile bank statements, other assets, and card transactions regularly to ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist with Expense Tracking: Help track company expenses and ensure compliance with guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and tax preparation.
  • Familiarity with basic financial analysis and budgeting.
