We are seeking an exceptional Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, enjoy working with complex systems and processes, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication abilities.
This is a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of medical claims, maintaining compliance with insurer requirements, and delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify insurance coverage for new and existing patients by utilizing online platforms and making necessary phone calls.
- Assign accurate codes to claims according to insurer guidelines and acceptable codes provided.
- Review claims for potential denials, ensuring compliance with insurer requirements and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Submit electronic claims via software within the designated timeframe.
- Process denied claims, requesting additional information from insurers or appealing when required.
- Pull reports and EOBs from payment websites, reconciling payments with bank accounts and communicating with insurers regarding outstanding payments.
- Maintain up-to-date credentialing with each insurer for all practice providers.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems.
- Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
- Certifications such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CMAS (Certified Medical Administrative Specialist) preferred but not required.
