The RES Manager will lead the company's RES business operation to achieve a sustainable profit generation from buying and supplying electricity to contestable customers. Achieving sustainable growth of the company's contracting volume and profit margin is a key objective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Energy Sourcing: The procurement and management of electricity from various sources, including negotiating contracts and participating in markets to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply. This involves forecasting demand, managing risks, and incorporating consumer preferences.
  2. Sale of Electricity: Securing retail supply contracts with contestable customers through the sale of electricity with a reasonable profit margin. Activities include gathering leads, implementing marketing strategies, developing products and pricing, preparing competitive offers, negotiating, and closing deals.
  3. Customer Switching and Contract Closing: Leading the preparation and completion of documentary requirements for customer switching, including the preparation and execution of RES agreements, and facilitating customer transfer and registration with the WESM and distribution utilities.
  4. Portfolio and Risk Management: Ensuring that the risks associated with buying and selling electricity from various sources to contestable customers are identified and managed to maintain the business's profitability. Activities include data gathering, portfolio analysis, sensitivity analysis, hedging, and other measures to prevent financial losses. Reports on the performance and improvement of the RES business are submitted to management and the board.
  5. Contract Execution and Settlement: Ensuring accurate declaration and settlement of electricity sourced from various suppliers and supplied to contracted contestable customers. Reports are submitted to relevant agencies about the operation of the company's RES business.
  6. Customer Support and Contract Management: Providing aftersales support for both suppliers and buyers of electricity, addressing concerns related to the delivery of electricity and other contractual obligations.
  7. Support to EDU Group's Growth Aspiration: Providing support to the development/improvement of marketing and commercial strategy, and growth strategy of EDU.

Requirements:

  • A Graduate degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or Natural Science Course, Economics, Business and/or Finance
  • A minimum of 3-year experience in RES
  • Training in WESM, Power Economics, Sales and Marketing, and RCOA
  • Skills in Sales concept and techniques, negotiation, and presentation
