Job Title:

Senior DevOps Observability Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Observability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and deploying an Observability solution that aligns with our IT strategy and vision.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Observability and DevOps engineers to integrate OpenTelemetry into software applications and build a world-class Observability Platform as part of our DevOps Tooling and Capabilities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing an Observability solution that meets our IT strategy and vision
  • Working across application teams to integrate the Observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebases
  • Communicating with governance streams to ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design
  • Delivering against functional and non-functional requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong understanding of Observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch
  • Hands-on experience in deploying and managing AWS resources
  • Demonstrated current experience of hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineering using Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
  • Experience of Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies such as Source Code Management; Git, DevOps platforms; Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus
