Job Title: Medical File Reviewer/PHRN

The primary function of this role is to review medical files and prepare case information for clients.

">Responsibilities:
  • File Preparation:
    • Prepares case files assigned through the client portal.
    • Reviews medical records, bookmarks key information, and creates a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on a veteran's medical history.
  • Medical Record Review:
    • Reviews medical records to identify relevant information.
    • Creates a summary of the medical history for use in the Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ).
  • Interviewing Veterans:
    • Assists medical providers during scheduled appointments by preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer prior to the appointment.
    • Conducts remote interviews with veterans via approved video or telephone conference platforms.
    • Transcribes medical histories from veteran responses in the Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ).
    • Documents physical examination findings for the medical provider.
    • Completes DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
    • Discusses cases with medical providers to determine final diagnoses and approve medical opinions.
    • Transfers data to the client portal and submits completed DBQs.
    • Responds to additional reports and queries from clients.
    • Coordinates with medical providers and team members regarding daily appointments.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
    • Holds a BSN degree and an active PHRN license.
    • Effective communication skills to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Flexibility in adapting to changing work schedules as needed.
    • Accountability for all assigned cases.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Collaborate with leads and trainers to improve processes.
    • Assist in creating templates related to process improvements.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
