Overview of the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Medical Coder to join our team at PRIVATE ADVERTISER.
In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes from inpatient medical records and documentation.
You will also need to ensure compliance with relevant coding guidelines and regulations, including those set by CMS, AHIMA, and AAPC.
As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with billing, compliance, and healthcare teams to optimize reimbursement and minimize denials.
Key Responsibilities
- Review inpatient medical records and documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes
- Ensure compliance with CMS, AHIMA, and AAPC coding guidelines
- Validate physician documentation and query providers when necessary
- Work closely with billing, compliance, and healthcare teams to optimize reimbursement and minimize denials
- Stay up-to-date with coding changes, regulatory updates, and payer requirements
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Inpatient Medical Coder who can hit the ground running.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field, recent experience in medical coding, and an active Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) license.
We require excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
