Senior Accountant for Remote Cannabis Brand

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience working with financial software. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in an established environment.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes.
  • Post daily transactions in QuickBooks Online.
  • Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly.
  • Reconcile company credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom.
  • Extract and compile expense submissions via Dext.
  • Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.
  • Identify and correct errors or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal policies.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Minimum 5 years of senior accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms).
  • Comfortable using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools.
  • Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving acumen.
  • Superior communication and organization skills
