Job Opportunity: IT Director

Our organization is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our technology strategy and operations.

The ideal candidate will oversee the implementation of innovative solutions, manage IT infrastructure, security, and budget, while driving digital transformation initiatives and supporting the organization's technological growth and efficiency.

This role involves strategic planning, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will also empower and train direct reports to manage systems and tasks independently, conduct regular team huddles and staffing reviews, and maintain organized project tracking boards.

About This Role: We are looking for a skilled IT leader with a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems, and security, as well as experience in strategic planning and project management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and IT governance, and be familiar with industry-standard frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all technology operations, policies, and systems to support company strategies and improve efficiency.
  • Empowerment and training of direct reports to manage systems and tasks independently.
  • Management of up to 8 direct reports (plus their teams), providing training, clear instructions, and consistent project oversight.
  • Conducting weekly 1:1s, team huddles, and staffing reviews; setting hiring goals and maintaining a skills matrix.
  • Leading with empathy and accountability—supporting staff while driving performance and results.
  • Anticipating conflicts, prioritizing initiatives, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Communicating clearly—delegating down, reporting up, and keeping leadership aligned.
  • Maintaining organized project tracking boards, with a maximum of 50 active tasks.
  • Reviewing and QA deliverables to ensure accuracy and readiness before implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in IT management, with a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems, and security.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring IT teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, and enterprise software solutions.
  • Expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and IT governance.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, or similar.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required): PMP, CISSP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
