Job Title: Payroll Tax Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing tax support to clients in the areas of tax compliance, accurate submission of payroll taxes, W2/YE balancing, and client communication.

As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will serve as a liaison in providing a point of contact for clients' inquiries, including employee level payroll and tax filing. You will respond to and resolve customer inquiries via our CRM tool, assess customer health using our defined process, and ensure employees are taxed appropriately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Employee Tax Payroll Accuracy: Review and audit payroll commits to ensure employees are taxed correctly.
  • Payroll Tax Adjustments: Partner with customers and internal payroll teams to process adjustments accurately.
  • Wage X Rate Audit: Conduct monthly audits to ensure customers' wages and rates are accurate.
  • Pre-funding Requests: Assist customers with timely pre-funding requests for stock transactions.
  • Monthly and Annual W-4 Form Exemptions: Review W-4 Form exemptions monthly to perform reasonability checks.
  • Tax and Compliance Changes: Stay up-to-date on tax and compliance changes and work with clients to ensure alignment.
  • Quarter/Year-End Balancing: Perform quarterly and year-end audits to balance clients' and employees' taxes.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree in business, tax, or human resources is desired.
  • FPC or CPP certification is required or commitment to obtain within two years of employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills, strong customer focus, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to work individually and in a team environment.
