Job Description

The Reinsurance Analyst role involves accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts. Reporting to the VP of Reinsurance Finance and working closely with the finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing quota share programs, including bordereau reporting and cash allocation in SICS
  • Reviewing incoming loss reports for insureds by name and major loss events
  • Reviewing and confirming contract data in SICS to original contract wording
  • Liaising with Finance and Claims teams regarding all aspects of the role

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Processing premium information on excess of loss contracts, including endorsements and premium adjustments in SICS
  • Maintaining underwriting cash books and posting to SICS
  • Pairing cash receivable in SICS
  • Entering data into the FinScan app
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Technical knowledge of reinsurance terms, contracts, reserving, and settlement
  • Understanding of accounting for quota share and excess of loss contracts and ability to read and understand contracts
  • Experience with reinsurance underwriting accounting systems, e.g., DXC SICS
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, primarily Excel
  • Very strong analytical, documentation, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
  • A strong work ethic and ability to take initiative and work without supervision
