Actuarial Manager

This role involves leading actuarial modeling and analytical functions while collaborating closely with other teams to ensure the financial well-being of the company and support business targets.

Critical Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage actuarial models, ensuring timely preparation of model runs and outputs for monthly valuation and planning/forecast exercises.
  • Apply relevant frameworks such as AIFRS for profit analysis and PFRS/GPV for statutory earnings reporting.
  • Coordinate information delivery and reports with Group reporting teams.
  • Initiate model validation and changes based on Local Model Governance Policy.
  • Utilize Prophet models with data inputs from stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality analyses and insights on key metrics movements.
  • Provide recommendations to reporting teams and manage systems dependencies for policy data.
  • Prepare deliverables for local management committees.
  • Ensure proper development, maintenance, and documentation of valuation models with appropriate governance.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accountancy, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Member of a recognized actuarial society (ASP, SOA) or close to qualifying.
  • At least five years of experience in life insurance, preferably in actuarial valuation.
Personal Characteristics and Behaviors
  • Detailed-oriented and punctual.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective collaborator with colleagues and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Prophet is a plus.
About the Role
  • Support analysis of company performance to aid performance improvement and target achievement.
  • Create a common database to document KPIs and indicators of competing companies.
  • Collect data and identify limitations in existing systems to support proposed strategies.
