Job Overview

As a Freelance Peer Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing manuscripts for journals and publishers. Your expertise in biochemistry is essential in evaluating the novelty, study design, methodology, literature review, results, and conclusions of submitted manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess manuscript novelty to ensure it adds new knowledge or insights to the field of study.
  • Evaluate study design and methods to ensure they are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews and cite relevant research in the field.
  • Analyze results and conclusions to ensure they are supported by data and significant to the field.
  • Provide constructive feedback suggesting improvements or highlighting flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
  • Recommend publication based on your evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in biochemistry or a related field.
  • Have at least two publications in the last two years in the field.
  • Exhibit excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Display strong written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals.
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
