Learning Experience Designer

The role of Learning Experience Designer is pivotal in crafting impactful and efficient learning experiences.

This position collaborates closely with subject matter experts to identify required learning outcomes and target learner populations.

  • Apply best practices in learning technologies and instructional design principles
  • Work with subject matter experts to determine necessary learning outcomes and target learner groups.
  • Determine the most suitable and effective delivery methods (e-learning, virtual classroom, face-to-face etc.)
  • Evaluate instructional goals and create content that aligns with them
  • For e-learning, conceptualize instructional graphics, user interface and final product
  • Implement learner interactivity (exercises, activities etc.) that enhance the learning process and learner experience
  • Create supplementary materials/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Develop assessment modes, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course and attainment of knowledge and other specified learner outcomes.
  • Identify substandard or outdated learning content and offer recommendations for improvement or replacement.
  • Ensure alignment of new content implementation as required. Including identification prerequisites and related/interdependent courses as defined by curriculum requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies (HTML) and multi-media formats (jpg, mp4, mp3)
  • Visual design skills (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • BA or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar relevant field
  • Certification in Instructional Design (preferred)
