The Role

The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting clients by completing much of the preparation of financial and management accounting reports for review by senior members of the team. Increased practical experience and an improved theoretical base will allow for career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Apply fundamental accounting concepts knowledge to computerised accounting packages (Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks) and utilise this software to prepare basic financial statements, including the set-up of a new client, chart of accounts, and asset schedules.
  • Comply with the client's working paper standards and accounting checklists. Understands principles of applicable accounts presentation and accounting standards.
  • Adherence to standard organisational obligations and statutory lodgment requirements (e.g. annual returns, common forms).
  • Formation and maintenance of client relationships
  • Provision of on-the-job training for other colleagues as required, including supervision of graduate work
  • Develop a basic understanding of business structures and intra-group transfers
  • Attends relevant training sessions
