Job Description
The SOC Analyst will support N-Able's 24/7 operations and monitor suspicious activities via in-depth analysis. They will develop findings and make recommendations to tune environments, facilitate communication with other team members, and conduct initial investigations of security events.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threat vectors, risk management, and incident response.
  2. Monitor and triage alerts using Adlumin SIEM and other SOC tools, analyzing logs to identify suspicious behavior.
  3. Conduct initial investigations of security events to assess impact and determine if escalation is needed.
  4. Analyze logs from diverse security devices to identify trends, anomalies, and potential threats.
  5. Escalate validated incidents to Tier 2 for further analysis, following established SOPs and playbooks.
  6. Avoid clickbait use Accurately document investigation findings and ensure detailed case notes for knowledge sharing and reporting.
  7. Collaborate with team members to support a 24x7 SOC operation and contribute to continuous threat detection improvements.


What You'll Bring
  1. 2-3 years of experience as a Security Operations Analyst in a SOC environment with strong cybersecurity fundamentals.
  2. Proficiency in analyzing log telemetry using SIEM platforms, across a wide range of sources including Windows and Linux systems, network infrastructure, email, EDR solutions, cloud environments, DNS, VPN, threat detection techniques, and more.
  3. Knowledge of living-off-the-land techniques, encoding/decoding commands, and MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  4. Cybersecurity-related degree or equivalent certification (e.g., CompTIA Sec+ or DoD 8570/8140 IAM/IAT Level 2), with the ability to commute or relocate as required.
