Senior Embedded Systems Leader

We seek a highly experienced Senior Embedded Systems Leader to oversee the development lifecycle of ESP32-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in embedded systems, C and C++ programming, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full development lifecycle of ESP32-based solutions, from concept through deployment, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Design, implement, and optimize embedded firmware using C and C++ tailored for performance and reliability, leveraging expertise in real-time operating systems and resource-constrained environments.
  • Define technical specifications, project scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and team members, facilitating effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are consistently met, and monitoring progress against established goals.
  • Oversee system integration, hardware–software debugging, and performance tuning to guarantee robust functionality, applying hands-on expertise in testing and validation methodologies.
  • Review code contributions, maintain coding standards, and mentor junior engineers to enhance overall team capability, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to documentation standards, version control practices, and quality assurance processes, maintaining a high level of documentation accuracy and consistency.
  • Facilitate collaboration across hardware, firmware, and UI/UX teams to align on technical and functional goals, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years demonstrated experience developing with ESP32 microcontrollers or equivalent embedded hardware platforms.
  • Strong expertise in C and C++ programming for firmware, with a focus on efficiency and reliability in embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth for device interfacing, with hands-on experience in protocol design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with RTOS, multitasking, and resource-constrained environments in embedded systems development, including expertise in power management and low-power designs.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing cross-functional teams and delivering end-to-end IoT or software projects, with a track record of successfully driving projects from conception to delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, debugging tools, and modern development environments, including proficiency in Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Capacity to balance hands-on technical contributions with project management and strategic oversight, making informed decisions that drive business outcomes.
