Senior Software Engineer & Cloud Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer and Cloud Specialist to join our team of innovative professionals. As a critical member of our technology division, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, building, and delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify new features, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
  • Engage with upstream communities in your area of expertise to drive collaborative innovation
  • Conduct thorough security analysis and reviews to ensure robust defence mechanisms
  • Create and monitor performance benchmarks to optimise product efficiency
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive project success
  • Write high-quality code to create new features and contribute to the development of open-source technologies
  • Debug issues and produce high-quality code to resolve complex problems
  • Review code produced by other engineers to maintain quality standards
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding effective solutions to technical challenges

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
  • Proven drive and ability to exceed expectations
  • Experience working on open-source cloud technologies
  • Proficiency in kernel-level system development or low-level system engineering
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
  • Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events up to two weeks each
