Job Summary

The objective of this role is to manage and oversee the financial operations of a media and entertainment company. This position requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial process management, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment across multiple entities.
  • Accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inter-company coordination, and financial controls are key responsibilities in this role.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliation, manual journals, expense approvals, payment approvals, procurement, statutory reporting, management reporting, revenue recognition, budget setting & variances, forecasting, depreciation & amortisation, payroll, commission management, project-based accounting, intellectual property valuation, vendor & talent payment management, intercompany transactions, consolidated reporting, group treasury management, transfer pricing, group tax strategy & compliance, intercompany service agreements, consolidated cash flow forecasting, group risk management, capital structure management, debt facility management, one-offs, audit coordination, M&A due diligence & integration, stakeholder reporting, and modelling.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CA certification required.
  • Minimum 7 years in financial management with experience in managing complex priorities across multiple entities.
  • At least 3 years of experience working within a multi-entity group structure.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or event-based industries preferred.
  • Proven expertise in inter-company transactions, group consolidation, and Australian tax compliance.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with expense management tools.
  • Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets, particularly for group-level modelling and forecasting.
Soft Skills:
  • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and cross-entity collaboration.
  • Ability to manage complex priorities across multiple entities.
Industry Context:

This role requires adaptability to the financial cycles and operational nuances of both the media and entertainment sectors.
