Data Engineer for Cloud and AI Solutions

IBM is seeking a talented Data Platform Engineer to join our team in the Philippines. As a key member of our delivery center, you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, evaluating, and testing big data solutions.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for designing, building, optimizing, and supporting new and existing data models and ETL processes based on client business requirements. You will also build, deploy, and manage data infrastructure that can handle the needs of a rapidly growing data-driven organization.

Furthermore, you will coordinate data access and security to enable data scientists and analysts to easily access data whenever needed. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Model Design and ETL Optimization: Design, build, optimize, and support new and existing data models and ETL processes based on client business requirements.
  • Robust Data Infrastructure Management: Build, deploy, and manage data infrastructure that can handle the needs of a rapidly growing data-driven organization.
  • Seamless Data Accessibility and Security Coordination: Coordinate data access and security to enable data scientists and analysts to easily access data whenever needed.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Development Experience: Development experience in Big Data software development technologies such as Python, Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.
  • Programming Skills: Proficient background in Unix or Linux programming language.
  • Database Knowledge: Good understanding in SQL and RDBMS. Good at modeling data for relational, analytical, and big data workload.
  • Client Support: Provide support for deployed data applications and other data consumers by identifying data problems and guiding issue resolution with partner Data Engineers and source data providers.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Amenable to work on a client-based schedule (dayshift, mid-shift, night-shift) and in any IBM location in Quezon City (Eastwood and/or UP Ayala Technohub) or Cebu.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • JLPT Certification: JLPT N1-N3 certification is preferred.
  • Big Data Tools: Experience in Big Data tools such as Python, Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.
  • SQL and Unix/Linux Background: Proven background in SQL, Unix/Linux, and ETL process.
What We Offer
