Job Description

The Tao Foods Company Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, Developing, and Monitoring Cost Standards for products and services.
  • Preparation of Cost Reports for manufacturing processes, including direct costs and indirect costs such as rent, salaries, and variable costs like labor and raw materials.
  • Assisting in Budget Preparation and Variance Analysis, comparing actual costs to standard costs and recommending improvements.
  • Maintaining General Ledger and Balance Sheets.

Inventory Management responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Regular Inventory Audits to ensure accurate data of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Monitoring Inventory Levels, coordinating with the procurement and production team to manage stock levels and avoid operations delays and inventory shortages.

Budgeting duties involve:

  • Maintaining Budget within Approved Limits.
  • Preparing Budget Forecasts and Cost-Control System.
  • Monitoring Actual Performance against Approved Budget.
  • Participating in Annual Budget Process by providing cost projections and input for cost-control system.

Compliance and Internal Controls are crucial for this role:

  • Ensuring Compliance with Internal and External Financial Policies and Industry Standards.
  • Implementing and Maintaining Internal Controls Related to Cost Accounting Practices.

  • Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks and Meet Deadlines in a Fast-Paced Environment.
  • Efficient Preparation and Timely Submission of Reports.
  • Holds Confidential Information on Financial Transactions.

EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Related Field.
  • Professional Certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a Plus.
  • 3+ Years of Experience in Cost Accounting, Preferably in Food Manufacturing or Related Industry.
  • Strong Understanding of Cost Accounting Principles, Inventory Management, and Financial Reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP Systems, and Financial Software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NAV, Netsuite).
  • Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Processes and Industry-Specific Challenges is a Plus.
